Bryan Kest Yoga

Bryan Kest came to SLC! He did a 3 day workshop and it was awesome. I had expectations of super difficult poses and corrections of alignment. I was wrong! It was nothing I had not done before but it was the focus that gripped us and became a powerful yoga teaching. The LSD( long, slow and deep) stretching was intense. We ended Sunday with meditations on gratitude, compassion and karma that had I assume, tears flowing freely, mine anyway! It made me realize how much I miss my meditation group back in Colorado.

I attended this retreat with two fantastic friends and Treehouse yoga teachers Angela the Great and Cynthia the Lovely. Thanks girls for the treats, the sharing of the Living Cuisine dinner and stimulating conversation.

Ang and I have decided to go to Red Rock Country in the fall for a four day backpacking/yoga/meditation. I can hardly wait!!

Kauai (Part Two)

Back at Poipu Beach for the day.

Stopped at Shipwreck Beach, bigger waves-surfer beach.
Cierra in her Kauai outfit, going to dinner.

We hiked north of where we stayed and found a couple of nice beaches, this one was deserted. Wish we could have stayed all day! It was beautiful.

One day we went to the North Shore, stopped at Kilauea Point where they farm taro. End of the road. hiked along the Na Pali coast a bit on the Kalalau Trail and hung out at Kee Beach. Stopped in Hanalei for lunch, walked out the pier and then hiked down to Queen's Bath. Lots of turtles there.

Not the last day already. Took the boat ride out to the Fern Grotto, it was fun had a couple girls dancing and taught us the hula. Last stop Lyngate Beach. No worries we'll be back.

KAUAI-Part 1

Waiting to change planes to Kauai-fresh lei's.
Cierra was surprised, she wanted a convertible and we had told her
they were all out...she was happy.

We stayed at Sunset Kahili condos, they are older but clean and steps to the beach, nice view off our deck of the ocean we saw whales, sunsets and could hear the waves at night what more do you need ?
The beach we hung out at was Poipu Beach, great for kids, we snorkeled, I had sea turtles swimming around me and we saw a monk seal. The weather was perfect on the south shore!

Day two we took a morning walk down to Kipu Falls, you can jump off the cliffs or swing on the rope and climb back up the ladder. We drove through the east area by Lihue and Menehune Fish Ponds, up to Opaeka'a Falls, and then to Lyngate Beach Park-this was Cierra's favorite beach.

We went to Smith's Tropical luau that night, wandered through the gardens before dinner.

Day three out to Waimea Canyon, took a hike when we were coming down it started raining and by the time we were heading west out to Polihale Beach it was pouring! Decided not to try the dirt road out there guess we will have to plan another trip!!
